The Community of Madrid has signed a new agreement with Envera to promote the employment of people with intellectual disabilities through a training internship program with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Regional Consortium of Public Transport of Madrid. The agreement has been signed by the Councilor David Pérez and the General Director of Envera, Enrique Grande, and the signing ceremony was attended by the General Director of Transport, José Luis Fernández-Quejo del Pozo, and the President of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, accompanied by the Director of Assistance Services, Ana Magalló, and the Head of Training, Rubén Ortiz.

The objective of these training internships for Envera students, people over 18 years of age with special educational needs, is to receive training in skills and abilities that complement their education and promote positive attitudes for social participation and professional development, with the aim of their subsequent socio-labor insertion.

The internship will have a maximum duration of three months, with a working week not exceeding 20 hours. At the end of the training period, a certificate will be issued to certify the knowledge acquired. In addition, these internships are considered to be of great interest as they bring the day-to-day work of the public administration closer to the students, which encourages them to prepare for competitive examinations, for which Envera also trains them.

At the signing ceremony of the agreement, which is valid for one year and can be extended for another four years, Councilor David Pérez emphasized that "in view of the success of the training practices that we signed at the Housing Department, we want this agreement to be repeated so that the students can continue learning in a public administration that should be exemplary, but we also want them to learn from them, from their spirit of improvement and their skills".

For his part, the CEO of Envera thanked the Minister and the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, "for their permanent support in the life journey of the most vulnerable, for which we can always count on you. There is no better social policy," he said, "than that which promotes employment, and the signing of this agreement is a giant step in that direction".

Finally, Enrique Grande stated that "with you, Councilor, we can see that the Administration is also doing its homework very well and that it is at the forefront of a diverse and global society, where it is not possible to move forward if one part of it, the vulnerable people and their families, is left aside".

The first trainees will work at the Department of Transport and the Consortium and will join the company next September.
