Envera and Fundación MAPFRE collaborate in the employment of people with intellectual disabilities.

Canary Islands | October 31, 2018

Envera and Fundación MAPFRE collaborate in the labor market insertion of people with intellectual disabilities through the program Juntos Somos Capaces (Together We Can), which aims to help people with intellectual disabilities and mental illness to get a job.

This program, promoted by Fundación MAPFRE and to which Envera has adhered since 2012, seeks to "promote relations between companies and social entities from an innovative approach in terms of equity and social cohesion" in the field of Competitive Social Responsibility (CSR).

Thanks to the collaboration agreement signed between both entities, Envera's beneficiaries have scholarships to carry out training internships in companies and improve their chances of entering the labor market.

Cases like that of Mamadou, a 33-year-old Malian who came to Spain in search of a better future and where, thanks to the training offered by Envera, he has found a job as a receptionist at the Hotel Paradise Lago in the south of Gran Canaria.

With this collaboration, Fundación MAPFRE and Envera hope to promote access to employment for people with intellectual disabilities or mental illness through internships in companies that improve their skills and help them demonstrate that we can all be the best at something.
