Envera launches its Family Respite Service in Malaga

  • Aimed at families of people with intellectual disabilities.
  • It will begin on July 10 in collaboration with Plena InclusiĂłn AndalucĂa.

Malaga : June 21, 2024

On July 10, Envera will start up its Family Respite Service in Malaga aimed at people with intellectual disabilities and their families in order to offer support and accompaniment at specific times.

This service, offered in collaboration with Plena InclusiĂłn AndalucĂa, helps families to develop a more satisfactory social and family life, offering relief in situations that are already complicated in themselves, such as health problems or hospitalizations in the family, need for rest and leisure, vacations, work, social or family commitments, as well as other circumstances that may alter the living habits of the person with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This care is provided by specialized educators, technicians and caregivers who will provide:

  • Individualized one-on-one support
This modality is designed to respond to very specific demands of families, for defined and specific periods of time, but providing services with flexibility, both in duration and frequency and reasons.
  • Shared occasional support
It is provided to a group of people with intellectual disabilities, either because the family has more than one member with intellectual disabilities or on the occasion of a shared activity of several family members in the association or federation. This modality can be requested from two or more people.
  • Accompaniments
Support that is aimed at families of people with intellectual disabilities who can not accompany them to the center or activity where they are usually attended. It is a daily access service to school, day center, therapies... This modality is limited to families with specific situations (single parent, parents over 60 years old or with serious health problems) and for a certain period of time.

On this occasion, it is not a leisure or vacation service for people with disabilities, nor a service to meet the permanent needs of the family or to solve difficulties in the care of the person with disabilities, for which Envera already has other types of advice and services in its commitment to care for people with disabilities.
