Envera has received the Sustainability Award at the second edition of the Influentials Awards, organized by El Confidencial and Herbert Smith Freehills with the aim of "recognizing the most outstanding companies, executives and personalities in Spain during the past year".

In addition to Envera, the chef José Andrés (personality of the year award), the painter Antonio López (professional career award), the scientist and researcher María Vallet (professional career award), Repsol (best company of the year award), Mapfre (Spain brand award) and Bizum (most innovative company award) were also recognized.

The event was chaired by the Minister of Public Works, José Luis Ábalos, with the participation of the Secretary of State for Global Spain, Irene Lozano, and was attended by numerous personalities such as José Antonio Sánchez (President of El Confidencial), Isabel Pardo de Vera (President of ADIF), Juan Manuel Cendoya (Vice-President of Banco Santander), José Morales (Regional Director of Ibercaja Madrid and Northwest), Hilario Alfaro (President of Madrid Foro Empresarial), Alberto Navarro (CEO of SEUR), José Trigueros (general director of Cedex), Isabel García Tejerina (former minister), Rafael Catalá (former minister), Teodoro García Egea (secretary general of the PP), Ignacio Aguado (spokesperson for Ciudadanos in the Assembly of Madrid), Begoña Villacís (spokesperson for Ciudadanos in the Madrid City Council), Leopoldo González Echenique (former president of RTVE) and Pedro Núñez Morgades (trustee of Envera), among others.

Paco Arango, founder of the Aladina Foundation, was in charge of presenting the 2018 Sustainability Award, which was collected by the president of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, accompanied by Carlota, an Envera student, and Germán, a dancer and beneficiary of its Occupational Center.

Quintero wanted to thank El Confidencial and all the people who voted for Envera for their commitment to equal opportunities and social justice. He acknowledged that, after more than 40 years working in the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, "getting here has not been easy, but we have not been alone: we have found people who have built a network that has not let us fall", and said that "in the journey of life there are always places for everyone, to be happy people, useful and masters of their destiny. They give us an example of generosity and humor, without complexes and without limits, showing us that we can all be the best at something and that not everyone can do the work they do".

For Envera, who leads the Madrid Business Forum's Competitive Social Responsibility and Disability Roundtable, this Sustainability Award recognizes that "being socially responsible is not only fair, but also profitable, and is already a strategic element for 21st century companies that work in line with the global values of sustainability, inclusion, diversity, innovation and progress.

Nacho Cardero, director of El Confidencial, defended during the gala that "Spanish talent must be recognized, and -in reference to the award winners- you all represent professional excellence, business brilliance, innovation, the export of the Spain brand and social work in our country".

Minister Ábalos closed the event by stating that "the Influentials Awards not only recognize the winners, they are also a reflection of society. The award to Envera means that in the Spain we want there must be room for everyone, also for diversity, and the administration must guarantee it".
