Surely more than a hundred illustrious personalities, celebrities, businessmen, sportsmen, politicians, artists... perhaps we are very short if we count the visits of four or five people. Anyway, we know that if they came three or four times more, today's guest would still be one of our favorite people. For his closeness, for his talent and sensitivity, for the example he has always set since his beginnings in music, radio, cinema or television, for his vindictive and tenacious spirit, for his sense of humor... or simply because he touches our soul.
From the hand of José María Solana, brother of our dear Evaristo, user of the residence for people with great support needs that Envera has in Colmenar Viejo, Juan Manuel Montilla, El Langui, has come to visit us.
When they confirmed his attendance the day before, the commotion that was formed even worried us: everyone wanted to come to the radio and meet him. And so it was, we had to open wide the doors of the Radio Terrícola studio to enjoy this character so admired by all of us and so many others. In our memory we do not remember anything like it.
Juan Manuel, Juanma, Juanito, el Langui, whatever he wants us to call him. Today he gave us an unforgettable morning, even though he's on non-stop between television programs, recordings and other events. The questions piled up in the imagination of the more than 100 reporters who were crowded in the studio. The program began and between some screams in the background he told us with a smile that he could not be a footballer, since his parents made it difficult for him because if he wanted to play with the ball, he also had to learn to tie his shoelaces, to dress himself, to shower alone... he would not be a footballer, and he tried, but at the age of 13 he was already self-sufficient.
At that time, music came into his life. He told us that to create songs you only need a pencil and paper, and he had that. We added that it also takes talent and a lot of work, which he had plenty of. While his verses were being coupled to the rhythm boxes, and later to other instruments, Radio Taraská and his first movie, for which he was awarded a "cabezón" , performing as the best, fame and television, cinema, collaborations to thousands...
Juanma, El Langui, has injected us with a good dose of optimism, vital energy and good vibes because his ideals are ours, his illusion is ours, because we experience his spirit of struggle and self-improvement in our lives every day and we even make his phrases our own when he advises us that no one should take away our dreams, ours being that we can all be the best at something.
We got out, of course we did.
Many thanks to José María and Juanma, two of the greats, two of our own.
