The protagonists were people over 45 years of age from the Grupo Envera Residence in Colmenar Viejo, a group from the Colmenar Senior Center and athletes from Grupo Envera.
On Wednesday June 17 took place the day, organized by the Department of Family and Social Affairs of the City of Colmenar and envera. Different sports activities and traditional games were held. The activity was attended by 40 sportsmen of envera and 20 people of the Third Age, in an atmosphere of intergenerational participation and integration.
In addition to the sporting events, there were games of participation such as Frog and Bowling, storytelling by an elderly person and dancing.
The meeting lasted approximately two hours, and was completed with a picnic offered to all attendees.
The meeting is the result of the mutual collaboration that Grupo envera has been carrying out for several years with the Department of Family and Social Affairs of the City Council of Colmenar, through the organization of Sports and Cultural Inclusion Days, and volunteering.
After the success of this first meeting of seniors, the Department will propose that it be part of the annual calendar of activities and extend the invitation to other groups.
It is a type of integrative-inclusive activity that has a significant transforming and normalizing effect on people with functional diversity, who come into contact with elderly people outside the residence and with athletes with disabilities.
