Twelve students with disabilities from Envera's training programs in Madrid, "Destino Empleo" and "Gradúate en ESO", are participating in Iberia's stand at Fitur. Their function is to support the company's staff in attending to the thousands of visitors who pass through the most important tourism fair in the world during these days of intense public and activity at the Madrid Fairgrounds, IFEMA.
At the stand of the parent company from which Envera was born, 600 m2 in Hall 10 of IFEMA, students are supported by three job coaches to carry out the various tasks of customer service: from the general information desk, to accompanying those who want to experience the air navigation simulator that has been installed, or live the adventure of traveling in the seats and in-flight service that Iberia has installed for the occasion.
Envera's presence at the Iberia stand began on the same day of the inauguration, last Wednesday, when our student Jorge Lozoya received, along with the rest of the Iberia delegation headed by its president, the affectionate greeting from the King and Queen of Spain accompanied by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
Likewise, this Friday the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, also greeted the Envera students as they passed through the Iberia space.
This collaboration, which will continue tomorrow and in the afternoon until next Sunday, when FITUR closes its doors, is yet another example of the commitment and social responsibility of Spain's leading airline to diversity and inclusion, sustainable development objectives in whose impact it has been a pioneer since Envera was created almost 47 years ago at the initiative of its employees.
Today more than 400 disabled workers from Envera's Special Employment Centers work to serve Iberia by cartoning 4 million/year of cutlery kits for in-flight service, making 1.2 million/year of toiletry bags for travelers, cleaning 6.7 million/year of seat linen kits, error management of 1.5 million/year of rejected airline tickets, making 180 airplane engines through the selection of hardware kits or recycling 140 tons/year of materials.
In addition to supporting Iberia, Envera people have participated in other Fitur activities such as the live broadcast of the Tour Dis-friendly program on Radio Viajera with the participation of the Madrid City Council Tourism Delegate, Almudena Maíllo; the Sales Director for Spain, Portugal and North Africa, Antonio Linares; the Sustainability Coordinator of Grupo Viajes El Corte Inglés, Álvaro Gallego; the CEO and founder of PANGEA, David Hernández; the Executive President of Impulsa Igualdad; and the Operations Director of La Fontana Gastro - Comida Fusion Ecuador, Luis Uyana.
