In collaboration with

Iberia Veterans Association, the voice of experience on Radio Terrícola

Madrid | October 21, 2019

They are veterans, there is no doubt about that, because of their demeanor and firmness in the handshake. They are expert workers in the world of aviation, great professionals and are part of those workers who, as they say, carried Iberia in their veins.

Today they told us how since 1973 they have been organizing themselves in order not to lose contact, to remain active through leisure and collaboration. Although only eight people have visited us, they represent the Iberia Veterans and Air Sector Professionals Association, an organization formed by 5,ooo members, that's nothing.

After a brief visit to the Envera Integral Disability Center in Colmenar Viejo, the obligatory step was the radio station, Radio Terrícola. And here we were waiting for them to get to know them a little better and also to tell them something about us.

At the microphones sat its president, Miguel Ángel García Blázquez, and one of the sports delegates, Juan Vergara, whom we asked about their relationship with Envera. Curiously, they did not know very well, so we explained to them that this relationship really began 42 years ago, when some Iberia workers took a giant step by dedicating a good part of their efforts and resources to create this association that today they dress and that today serves more than 2,500 people with disabilities, giving work to another 1,000.

They told us how pleasantly they were surprised by the growth and the impressive work Envera is doing. They also talked about the leisure and recreational activities of their association, such as the trips they organize, their famous magazine, sports and the functioning of the association. They are not lacking in ideas and energy.

They represent the spirit of Iberia, a pioneer in Spanish aviation and an example of solidarity and collaborative initiatives such as the former APMIB, today Envera.

May this experience continue to motivate them to undertake collaborative actions and to make part of what they have seen and felt in our home their own.

Thank you very much for your visit.
