More than a year after the start of the pandemic and total confinement, we are still living with many restrictions due to the coronavirus. Lack of freedom of movement, limitations on leisure, little contact with family and friends, economic impact and general uncertainty have taken their toll on all of us. It is not surprising, therefore, that our mental and emotional health has been affected. In fact, a recent study conducted by Ipsos for the World Economic Forum places Spain as the fourth country in the world where mental health has worsened the most.

Aware of the need to address this dimension of health -as important as the physical-, Coca-Cola, as part of its social commitment and its purpose of making a difference in people's lives, launched in September 2020 the workshops Everything will get better. Meetings to provide emotional support to people particularly affected by a health crisis that has led to a social and economic one. Thanks to the collaboration of 25 social entities, 449 meetings have been held in which 3,192 people have participated.

In the case of Envera, more than 140 people with intellectual disabilities participated, both beneficiaries of assistance services and professionals from the Special Employment Centers of all the delegations: Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

Throughout twelve sessions and in small groups, the people of Envera have been able to share, in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, their experiences as well as the emotions and concerns that the new situation has generated in them.

The objective has been to create moments of relief for all these people, to provide them with support and tools to heal their wounds and regain confidence in the future, as well as to encourage connection and dialogue among them to establish networks of mutual support.

"After a particularly complicated year for everyone, it was clear to us at Coca-Cola that addressing the emotional aftermath of the pandemic was a key aspect that we had to address," explained Coca-Cola Iberia's Director of Corporate Responsibility, Ana GascĂłn. "That is why we are especially proud of the success of this project and of having exceeded 100% of the objectives we set ourselves with its launch," she stressed.

For his part, Envera's CEO, Enrique Grande, acknowledged that "we have toasted with Coca-Cola to optimism, understanding, unity and the ability to work together in the reconstruction of our world, to coexistence in a plural and diverse society where everyone is important and everyone counts. It has been unforgettable.
