Madrid | December 30, 2015
The Department of Family and Social Services of the City Council of Colmenar Viejo and its Volunteer Information Point section have convened as every year the Volunteers of the Year Awards, which were presented on December 2 on the occasion of the celebrations of the International Volunteer Day. If in 2014 one of the winners was Miguel Ángel Ruano, who for years has been collaborating in the sports activities developed by Grupo Envera to facilitate the inclusion of people with disabilities, this year two of our volunteers have been recognized for their work. Do you want to meet them?
Jesús de Frutos Ayuso
Businessman, musician and professional of image and sound, six years ago he arrived at Envera Deportes starting a stage of dedication to our athletes in which, according to him, he has received the best return and satisfaction.
Soon, with the participation of users and other professionals, Jesús embarked Envera on a fascinating project: Radio Terrícola. This digital radio station that can be listened to from anywhere in the world arises as a therapeutic workshop for the beneficiaries of the Occupational Center of Colmenar Viejo. Since its inception, Radio Terrícola's microphones have been used by important figures such as Cristina Cifuentes, the journalist Ángel Expósito or the presidents of the Montemadrid Foundation and Iberia, José Guirao and Luis Gallego, respectively.
In addition, Radio Terrícola has a mobile unit donated by the Orange Foundation, which has already been present in different events such as the Hangar 6 commemorative race that we shared with Iberia.
Soraya Fernández Hernández
When she was only 16 years old, she began to collaborate in the activities of the Ícaro Sports Club and to support the disabled athletes of Envera. Always close, her experience with the beneficiaries may have made her discover that her studies and profession are directed towards special education.
Last November, he accompanied the athletes to a basketball championship in Gijón and another in Zaragoza, supporting them not only in sports but also in personal matters in order to improve their skills, autonomy and interpersonal relationships.
From Grupo Envera, your family, we congratulate you for the well-deserved recognition of the Colmenar City Council.
