"There is nothing that enriches the soul and development of a people more than art in all its expressions."
It is possible that someone transcendental has already said this, we do not know, what is certain is that history affirms it emphatically. We have experienced a small example of this phrase today on Radio Terrícola, on our radio, the radio that unites us.
Although it is not the first time that a painter visits us, the meeting with David Paquet, distinguished French painter, resident in Madrid for 30 years, and Isabel Bettina Caparrós, exhibition curator and audiovisual producer, has been one of those unforgettable experiences, with a positive impact and creative energy that we are already missing.
They are among us because from September 5th until September 29th, David is exhibiting a retrospective of his work at Casa de Vacas, in the Retiro. There we could enjoy a good sample of his art, the evolution of his techniques, themes, materials, concepts..., in short, David's artistic personality and the years he has been painting in Spain, which are not few.
The program in charge of conducting the interview has been "Sarandonga". This fun format involves people from the Day Center, the Residences and the Envera Occupational Center in Colmenar Viejo, that is, many people and very diverse. We usually talk about the time we dedicate to leisure, our hobbies, our own personal movies or any initiative that may arise. All this through group dynamics and from the wisdom and closeness that Sara and Adrián, psychologist and educator, both hosts of the program, transmit.
David and Bettina told us about the exhibition at Casa de Vacas, about the desire to express themselves through painting, the love of art, creativity, inspiration, techniques and a lot of aspects that define the life of an artist and, on the other hand, the person who, from the heart, is involved in bringing that work to the enjoyment of the people.
While the interview was going on, Antonio Alfaro, one of our most sublime artists, was delicately drawing the faces of the guests with precise strokes. Simultaneously, a multitude of hands were raised asking for their turn to ask the most curious questions imaginable and others were raising some of the painting works that we do here, in our workshops. There was a lot of curiosity and a very positive atmosphere in the radio studio. Everyone wanted to participate. The bad thing is that time was running out and more than 60 people wanted more. How wonderful!
We encourage you to listen to the interview and not to miss the opportunity to enjoy David Paquet's work at Casa de Vacas.
Infinite thanks to our guests and our congratulations for so much art and for such a good vibe.
