Francisco José Pacheco is one of those people who has carved his own present and, possibly, its future. Perhaps his greatest achievement has been to do so by breaking down the barriers and prejudices that often accompany people with intellectual disabilities. Since his arrival at Envera in 2005, his main aspiration has been to train to get a job, demonstrating that with the necessary support we can all become the best at something.

web2After working for companies such as Decathlon, Deloitte, AENA or Alentis, Francisco José had to face the crisis and search for employment for a year and a half. Far from throwing in the towel and advised by the technicians of Envera's Labor Integration Service, Francisco participated in a labor insertion itinerary of the Incorpora Program of the Obra Social "la Caixa" that led him to get a new job: "I have been trained and prepared to find work by taking courses and I am currently a warehouse worker".

For more than three years now, Francisco José has been working at Normadat, one of the socially responsible companies with which Envera and the Incorpora Program work to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities. The company recognizes that "Francisco is a very responsible person" and highlights the work of the insertion technicians who provide "fast and effective support", says Yolanda González, human resources technician at Normadat.

Today in Madrid, the "la Caixa" Welfare Projects Foundation celebrates ten years of its Incorpora Program, which in this time has provided 137,818 jobs for people who are difficult to integrate, 30% of whom have been people with disabilities, thanks to the collaboration of 41,903 companies and 756 technicians from 382 entities such as Envera, whose objective is to work for equal opportunities and achieve a fairer society.

For Francisco José, finding a stable job has meant a change in his life: "Now I interact with people on a daily basis and learn from them. I help out at home and I can buy my own things."
