Since 1992, the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), by resolution:
- Invites all Member States and interested organizations to intensify their efforts to adopt effective and sustained measures to improve the situation of persons with disabilities;
- Proclaims December 3 as International Day of Disabled Persons;
- Urges governments, as well as national, regional and international organizations, to cooperate fully in the observance of the International Day of Disabled Persons.
Since then, this day has been celebrated as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which this year has as its theme "Inclusion Matters: Access and Empowerment for Persons with All Types of Disabilities".
For Grupo Envera - APMIB, in its commitment to ensure that all people enjoy a full quality of life through the social and labor insertion of people with disabilities, this is an important date that also coincides in proximity with another important milestone for us: International Volunteer Day (December 5).
From all our offices (Madrid, Colmenar Viejo, Barcelona, Malaga, Las Palmas and Tenerife) we will live this day with special enthusiasm and from Colmenar Viejo we will carry out various activities during the week.
On the morning of Friday, December 4, Envera will participate in the Sports Inclusion Day organized by the City Council of Colmenar Viejo along with other schools in the municipality of Madrid. Also on the 10th we will host in our facilities the conference Cyberbullying and responsible behavior on the Internet and social networks.
The team of the program La tarde de la cadena COPE, hosted by Ángel Expósito, will travel to these same facilities of Grupo Envera in Colmenar Viejo to prepare the program that will be broadcasted on the 3rd. An emotional and special program that wants to put people with disabilities as protagonists in what is especially their day.
In addition to these celebrations, on the occasion of International Volunteer Day (December 5), Grupo Envera collaborators Jesús de Frutos and Soraya Fernández will receive next week the 2015 Volunteer Award, granted by the Department of Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of the Colmenar Viejo City Council, for their dedication and actions in favor of the inclusion of people with disabilities.
