The General Director of Disability Support Policies of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, Borja Fanjul, visited this Thursday the Envera Integral Center for Disability Care in Colmenar Viejo.

Upon his arrival, Fanjul was received by the President of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, its General Director, Pedro Sobrino, Pedro Núñez Morgades on behalf of the Trustees of the Tutelar Foundation and the Director of Assistance Services, Ana Magalló.

dgsanenvera32 Borja Fanjul was able to learn about the therapeutic, leisure and sports activities carried out by the beneficiaries of the different assistance services as well as the work carried out by the professionals of the Residence for the Elderly Disabled 45 years old and the Day Center for the Seriously Affected, where an animal-assisted therapy session was also being carried out.

The workers of the Special Employment Center, where Envera provides handling, laundry, recycling and document management services, also showed the Director General the work they perform, such as cartoning and packaging products or managing airline ticket refunds.

The visit ended at the Occupational Center where the people served by Envera attend workshops aimed at developing their skills in order to access a job. Fanjul participated in one of these workshops, Radio Terrícola, in a special program prepared by Envera's announcers, who showed their interest in the work carried out by the General Director.

During the interview, Fanjul confessed his "vocation of service" and as pending issues he pointed out that the administration should "stop legislating so much and comply more" and encouraged people with disabilities to stop being "prudent" when claiming their rights. However, he pointed out that "the evolution has been incredible, disability in Spain, the associative movement and the level of the entities are the real Spain brand".

For his part, Sobrino also stressed that "the commitment of public administrations is essential to continue working for equal opportunities, since the exemplary role of the institutions encourages companies to know the advantages of having people with disabilities among their employees" and wanted to remember that "Envera has an agreement with the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness for training practices with which students with intellectual disabilities Envera demolish prejudices every day and increase their job prospects".

Finally, the President of Envera wanted to "thank Borja Fanjul for his visit" as head of Disability Support Policies of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality in the framework of the 40th anniversary of the entity, which is celebrated under the Honorary Presidency of H.M. Queen Letizia.
