The municipality of Tacoronte (Tenerife) dresses up for Christmas with the help of students - Envera workers

Tenerife | December 21, 2023

The City Council of Tacoronte and Envera collaborate in the labor inclusion of people with disabilities. One of the last projects that have been carried out jointly with the arrival of the Christmas season has been the beautification and planting of poinsettias in different green and landscaped areas of the municipality of Tenerife.

This planting has had the collaboration of students - workers of the Training Project in Alternation with Employment (PFAE) Agrojardín Envera 2022. The activity has been a complement to the theoretical and practical contents of the Certificate of Professionalism (AGAO0108) of Auxiliary Activities in Nurseries, Gardens and Garden Centers to which the training provided by Envera gives access for free and which is intended to facilitate the incorporation of people with disabilities into the labor market.

People like Rita, David or Soler who are training with Envera to get a job in a high demand sector such as agriculture, thanks to funding from the Canary Islands Employment Service and the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy - Public Employment Service (SEPE).

The director of the Envera Delegation in Tenerife, Juan Luis Hernández, points out that "being able to collaborate with the City Council of Tacoronte and its neighbors to promote values such as inclusion and diversity, promote equal opportunities and demonstrate, as our slogan says, that we can all be the best at something, is undoubtedly the best Christmas gift".

The places where the works have been carried out have been the gardens surrounding the facilities of the Tacoronte Farmer's Market and the gardens of the Plaza de la Ermita de la Caridad.
