On the occasion of the International Day of Disability and the celebration of the 45th anniversary of its foundation, this Thursday Envera presented its awards to the organizations that collaborate so that this social entity, together with Iberia, has an impact on 11 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN Agenda 2030 to which it is committed and which is reflected in the 2023 solidarity calendar 'Committed Wings' and that Envera has also presented today.

The event, which took place at Iberia's headquarters, was closed by the First Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation. For Nadia Calviño "it is essential that people are the backbone around which the whole process of transformation and modernization of our country is structured" and she assured that "the most prosperous societies are those that do not do without the talent of people with disabilities", encouraging all the Envera award winners to "continue working as they have done so far because only together, companies, NGOs and public administrations, men and women, will we manage to build a fairer and more sustainable country".

The gala was attended by the Director of the Technical Office of the Undersecretary of Defense, Vice-Admiral Antonino Cordero; the Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Comunidad de Madrid, Carlos Díaz-Pache; the Deputy Minister of Family, Youth and Social Policy, Luis Martínez-Sicluna; the former national soccer coach Vicente del Bosque; the CEO of ENAIRE, Ángel Luis Arias; the president of Madrid Foro Empresarial, Hilario Alfaro; the director of External Relations and Communications of Plena Inclusión Madrid, Elvira Cabezas; the president of Iberia, Javier Sánchez-Prieto; and the president of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, among other important personalities from the business, public administration and third sector sectors.

Envera, whose mission is to care for and support people with intellectual disabilities in their life journey, has managed to weave in recent years a wide network of partnerships that allows "return to the flow of social economy more than eight tons of lost items and serves to improve the lives of thousands of vulnerable people inside and outside our borders," as Quintero has pointed out.

Envera wanted, with this event, to point out those public and private institutions that strive to be exemplary by being a model for the rest of society in their path towards sustainability, equal opportunities and social justice.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructures and the Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Policy of the Community of Madrid, the 'Vicente del Bosque' Soccer School in Senegal have received recognition for this work, VGO Coalition (the largest platform for helping people with intellectual disabilities in Ukraine), Red Cross, Mensajeros de la Paz, Food Bank, Asociación Universidad para el Desarrollo de África (AUDE), Voluntarios por África, Fundación SEPLA-Ayuda, Aviación Sin Fronteras, Grupo Talía, MAPOMA, Coca-Cola European Partners, Nuveen Real Estate - Islazul, Carmila Carrefour and ENAIRE.

One of the most significant moments during the event was the testimony of the representative of intellectual disability in Ukraine, Raisa Kravchenko, who recounted the difficulties faced by the vulnerable among the vulnerable since the war began. Envera, together with several of the organizations that have been awarded today, has sent more than 8 tons of humanitarian aid to the interior of Ukraine, as well as financial support and videos of its professionals to give continuity to the treatments and therapies that have been interrupted.

Envera has also presented its 2023 'Committed Wings' solidarity calendar which includes the 11 SDGs (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, 16 and 17) on which it works with Iberia, the company from which it was born 45 years ago, helping thousands of vulnerable people and turning people with intellectual disabilities into solidarity leaders.

The calendar, with photographs taken by Mingote Award winner Miguel Berrocal, can be purchased at Envera's offices (in Madrid, Colmenar Viejo, Barcelona, Malaga, Tenerife and Gran Canaria) as well as at Envera Inclusion Point in the Islazul Shopping Center (Madrid), Carrefour Ciudad de la Imagen (Pozuelo de Alarcón) and Carrefour Prat (El Prat de Llobregat). The proceeds of the solidarity sale will go to the social projects that Envera carries out for the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.
