Envera has made a new shipment of material to the 'Vicente del Bosque' Soccer School in Senegal with the collaboration of the company Iberia and MAPOMA, which consisted of the donation of 120 suits for men and women and more than a hundred sports shoes. The shipment is in addition to the previous ones already made by Envera, which has maintained a close collaboration with the School since 2020 and with its founder, Limamou M'Bengue.
Lima', as the former Atlético de Madrid footballer is known, directs this project in which more than ninety children participate, for whom soccer has become a means of inclusion and healthy leisure but, above all, to have a better future. Since its inception, the initiative has had the support of former national team coach Vicente del Bosque, who is also an ambassador for thirty years of inclusive sport at Envera.
Professionals with intellectual disabilities from Envera's Solidarity Recycling Center have been in charge of preparing all the material obtained thanks to the circular economy, recycling and networking projects developed by the NGO. On the one hand, the costumes come from the old Iberia company uniforms, donated by its employees through the project Motor and air project developed by both entities. On the other hand, the sneakers have been delivered by MAPOMA thanks to the collaboration it maintains to support Envera's social initiatives.
Finally, two volunteers from Envera and Iberia, Begoña Ontiveros and Cruz Ventura, were in charge of transporting all the material to Senegal in a total of fourteen suitcases, which were loaded onto an Iberia plane by the airline itself.
The mayor of the neighborhood where the school is located, Aboubacar Djamil, received the representatives of Envera to thank them for supporting Lima's work to get children off the streets through sports, and to instill values that encourage them to go to school and other cultural activities.
With this fourth shipment, almost a ton of material has already been taken to Senegal, especially sports clothing, footwear and suitcases, among other items such as toys, basic necessities and school supplies.
For Envera, a social entity dedicated since 1977 to the social and labor inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, networking with other organizations and developing this type of solidarity projects of circular economy allow progress in achieving eight Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN Agenda 2030.
