On the eve of International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8, Envera organizes a conference with leading companies in their sector(Sacyr, Carrefour, Iberia Express, Grupo Social ONCE and Junta de Andalucía) that have broken the mold, breaking down prejudices by promoting the hiring of women with disabilities, a part of the population that, according to the Observatory on Disability and the Labor Market of the ONCE-ODISMET Foundation (2021), suffers from unemployment and inactivity in 66.7% compared to 23.3% of non-disabled people of working age.
This discrimination is not limited simply to access to employment, but also has repercussions on the precariousness of the jobs in which they work and on the remuneration received. According to the aforementioned observatory, the average gross annual salary of this group is 3,389.6 euros lower than that received by men with disabilities and 6,183.3 euros for people without disabilities. These situations have a direct impact on the lack of economic independence, freedom and risk of poverty and social exclusion of this part of our society.
From Envera, and with the support of these leading organizations in their sectors, they want to share with other companies and public and private institutions that talent is the main strategic capital and that much of it resides in women with disabilities, invisible among the invisible, vulnerable among the vulnerable.
The event will take place on March 7 at the Centro de Innovación Social La Noria of the Diputación de Málaga (Avda. Arroyo de los Ángeles, 50).
