Madrid | October 29, 2021

Since last March, Envera' s Early Intervention Service has had a climbing wall financed by the Ibercaja Foundation, which benefits the more than 200 children who attend this reference center in the care of children with disabilities or developmental disorders in the Community of Madrid.

Thanks to the 2,000 euros granted in the 2020 Ibercaja Foundation Call for Social Projects, the Early Intervention professionals have this innovative resource with which they work in a comprehensive way the needs of children, "both physical and cognitive skills", as recognized by Sabela Domínguez, pediatric physiotherapist at Envera: "we work on balance, coordination, laterality and also on an emotional level, self-esteem, problem solving and motivation, while instilling in them a taste for sports practice".

Specifically, for Mar Salas, also an Envera physiotherapist specializing in early care, the versatility offered by the climbing wall's grips, which can be arranged according to the needs of the treatment, makes it easier for professionals to work in a specific way to meet the needs of the children. In the case of people with hemiparesis, for example, thanks to the climbing wall "the less functional side is worked on, achieving objectives that would not be achieved by working on the ground".

Thanks to this collaboration with the Ibercaja Foundation, the people of Envera and their families continue to demonstrate that with the necessary support and resources there are no unreachable heights.
