Madrid | December 10, 2020

Envera has presented, on the occasion of Aviation Day, its Solidarity Calendar 2021 in an event in which the Madrid businessmen wanted to show their support to the aeronautical sector in one of its most delicate moments. The COVID-19 crisis has drastically limited an activity that directly employs 57,000 people and, indirectly, around 250,000 workers.

Hilario Alfaro, president of Madrid Foro Empresarial, has shown his unanimous support on behalf of Madrid's businessmen: "Aeronautical companies are, in addition to innovation with capital letters, the progress and vital economic engine of the capital of Spain and the rest of the country. Thank you for your work and your effort".

The companies, which demand urgent and concrete premises from the Spanish Government to ensure the survival of the aeronautical sector, have received this tribute on their big day, Our Lady of Loreto, patron saint of aviation. An applause achieved with a long list of merits. "I want to take this opportunity to recognize the fundamental role that airplanes have played in this health crisis. Both for the rapid delivery of supplies, the mobility of medical teams or the repatriation of citizens in very complicated moments," Alfaro recalled.

This recognition was accompanied by the presentation of the new solidarity calendar of the Envera Group, a non-profit organization founded 43 years ago by Iberia employees, fathers and mothers of people with intellectual disabilities, a social organization that today is open to the whole of society and which serves 2,500 people with disabilities each year and provides stable employment for more than 650.

This year, the calendar's message is a cry for unity and teamwork: 'We will fly together'.

Envera's CEO, Enrique Grande, also wanted to thank the main aeronautical companies that are protagonists of the calendar along with people with disabilities: "The pandemic has stopped us in our tracks. Genetics, disease or an accident also tried to stop the life journey of the more than 2,500 people with disabilities with whom Envera works every year. But neither genetics, disease nor accidents succeeded. That is our triumph: to know that with will, work and overcoming, with support and resources, with your collaboration, there are no impossible challenges".
