Madrid | November 23, 2021

The project 'Envera Inclusion Point' has been awarded at the CSR and Global Sustainability Week Congress as one of the four award-winning initiatives among the eighty that have been presented at the thirteenth edition of this benchmark event on corporate social responsibility. In addition, Envera was the second most voted initiative (more than 650 likes) by followers on social networks.

As pointed out by Virginia Ródenas, Director of Communications at Envera, an NGO founded in 1975 by Iberia company employees, fathers and mothers of people with intellectual disabilities, 'Envera Punto de Inclusión' is a pioneering social responsibility project in Europe that combines two opportunities: the free assignment of spaces in shopping centers such as Islazul (Madrid) and Carrefour (Ciudad de la Imagen and El Prat), thanks to the support of the investment fund Nuveen Real Estate and Carmila, and the donation of objects and suitcases lost in airplanes and airports that, after the established legal period, become the property of the airlines.

Envera was able to combine both opportunities and created a Solidarity Recycling Center as part of its Special Employment Center, where objects in perfect condition are selected and sent to the Envera Inclusion Point to be sold at a solidarity price.

Envera Punto de Inclusión also makes intellectual disabilities visible in shopping centers and contributes to the dynamization of the spaces with inclusive events such as the Inclusive Fashion Day, live Terrícola Radio programs or participation in shopping center events (Halloween, Christmas, etc.).

In addition, and despite being a finalist organization that serves more than 4,000 people every year with the aim that people with intellectual disabilities occupy their place in the world with dignity, through the Solidarity Recycling Center Envera donates basic necessities, computers and musical instruments to organizations such as UNHCR, Red Cross, Mensajeros de la Paz or the Talía Concertante Foundation, weaving a network of collaboration that helps thousands of people in vulnerable situations.

Since its launch in 2016, Envera Punto de Inclusión has become a sustainable and scalable project with which Envera provides sheltered employment to eleven people with disabilities and contributes to eight of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, for which it has represented the Government of Spain at the UN headquarters in Vienna as a finalist in the Zero Project Awards.

In presenting the CSR Week award, Virginia Ródenas said that it is a recognition "to all the people with disabilities at Envera who strive every day to demonstrate that there are no insurmountable barriers and that we can all be the best at something".
