The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, presided over the presentation this morning of the Envera 2022 Solidarity Calendar, which features the cover with people with intellectual disabilities from Envera and the president of Madrid Foro Empresarial. The event took place at the headquarters of the Madrid Business Confederation (CEIM) and is part of the commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated tomorrow.

Under the slogan 'Madrid flies', Envera has paid tribute to the determination and resilience of Madrid's business fabric in the face of Covid19. José Antonio Quintero, president of this non-profit organization, explained at the presentation that "we, who have never had it easy, are well aware of your daily effort to move forward, of your courage to overcome the hard trials with which this terrible pandemic has shaken our world, of your spirit of resistance to keep your jobs, to reinvent yourselves, to not throw in the towel, to win this battle".

Quintero also stressed that "there is no better social policy than job creation" and emphasized the business need for CSR "to be in society and in the market", as well as the value of public-private and inter-institutional unity to face the enormous challenges of this crisis.

WEB2An example of all this, in addition to this cooperation with private companies and the City Council of the capital, is the agreement between Envera and Metro de Madrid, "whereby, for the first time in the history of this great public company, people with intellectual disabilities, students of Envera, will carry out work training internships in its facilities. I am deeply grateful to the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the Regional Minister of Transport, David Pérez, for their permanent support in favor of the most vulnerable and equal opportunities, as well as their determination to make this possible".

For his part, Hilario Alfaro, president of Madrid Foro Empresarial wanted to "thank Envera for its gesture towards Madrid companies, which are a fundamental part of the economic and social engine of the capital".

Martínez-Almeida congratulated Envera and Madrid Foro Empresarial for their Solidarity Calendar with which "to remember every day of the year the importance of inclusion" and closed the event by assuring that "people with disabilities are an example of overcoming for everyone, inspiring us to be better, with the aim of achieving a Madrid without barriers".

Throughout the months, people with intellectual disabilities Envera accompany the Mayor himself, on the cover, and companies from different sectors such as Iberia, SAROT, ADEPESCA, Bestway, ACOTEX and Paco Cecilio, Join Up, Taberna Los Gallos, Colegio Nuestra Señora de Santa María, Zardoya Otis, Hotel Wellington, Palacio de la Prensa, Super 8, Grupo Metalia and IFEMA, Mapfre and Ibercaja, starring exciting images of a solidarity calendar, whose benefits will go to the social and labor inclusion of people with disabilities in Envera. The calendar can be purchased for 3 euros at the entity's headquarters (in Madrid, Colmenar Viejo, Barcelona, Malaga, Tenerife and Gran Canaria) as well as at Envera Inclusion Point in the Islazul Shopping Center (Madrid), Carrefour Ciudad de la Imagen (Pozuelo de Alarcón) and Carrefour Prat (El Prat de Llobregat).
