The employees of the FOD (Foreign Object Debris/Damage) program at Iberia's Hangar 5, located in the La Muñoza complex, have decided to donate the amount of the FOD Excellence Award granted by Airbus to Envera - Association of Iberia Employees Parents of People with Disabilities, complying with all the transparency procedures that must accompany a social action of these characteristics and that the aeronautical company requires.
With this Award, which Airbus grants quarterly to its work teams and which always has a solidarity purpose, the multinational wanted to recognize its employees, who work together with Iberia in Hangar 5, for "the speed with which they have been updated in the FOD techniques", which allow to eliminate waste and objects that can compromise the aircrafts, as Alberto Castrillo, head of Airbus, said, Airbus manager, in a ceremony that took place in the hangar itself and which was also attended by Ramón Cura, Head of MRTT and A400M Programs, and Pedro Sobrino, General Manager of Envera, as well as the award-winning professionals, who, they recognize, had to make an effort to implement the requirements of the FOD Program, but have been able to achieve it by reaching very high quality standards.
For all these reasons, Airbus wanted to reward the desire to excel and excellence, values in which Envera's vision is reflected.
Pedro Sobrino thanked the employees of Airbus and Iberia for their social commitment and announced that the 2,500 euros of the prize will go to finance individualized treatment for Alexia, a girl under seven years of age with low economic resources and a need for intervention in the areas of speech therapy, cognitive stimulation and school support that Envera covers from its Child and Adolescent Neurodevelopment Service in Madrid. For all this, the organization has a multidisciplinary team of professionals and a specific work plan for each area of action, which makes Envera a benchmark care service. Sobrino has pledged to keep the award-winning employees informed about the achievements that Alexia, thanks to their collaboration, will be reaching.
