Envera resumes face-to-face classes for job training in the Canary Islands

The activity at Envera's centers is resumed with the necessary measures to guarantee the safety and health of all personnel.

Canary Islands | June 23, 2020

Envera students in Tenerife and Gran Canaria have returned to classes after the temporary suspension of activities decreed by the Canary Employment Service on March 12 due to the situation caused by COVID-19. Envera, in coordination with the authorities, has taken all necessary measures to guarantee the safety and health of all persons, this being its priority objective.

With the exceptional scenario of the declaration of the state of alarm, Envera's pedagogical teams adapted the contents and materials to implement the distance training in order to give continuity to the preparation and training of the students and thus be able to take full advantage of the course.

Since March 17, the teachers of the Envera delegation in Tenerife have been teaching the PIIIL projects GEA Envera (Auxiliary Activities in Nurseries, Gardens and Garden Centers and in Agriculture) and HÁBITAT Envera (Certificate of Professionalism in Horticulture and Floriculture) virtually.

As of June 15, these students have returned to classroom training to continue with their usual work plan thanks to the 2,500 square meters of Envera's facilities, which allow them to meet the requirements of distance and hygiene both in the classrooms, where the capacity has been reduced to 50%, and in the outdoor practice areas. In addition, the use of masks, protective screens and hydroalcoholic gels are mandatory throughout the center.

This training is free of charge and has an attendance grant of 7 euros / day.

The general objective of both projects is to provide students with the knowledge and tools of a social and personal nature necessary to improve their employability, so that they are able to obtain, perform and maintain a qualified job.

- The GEA Envera Project (Level 1 Certificate of Professionalism in Auxiliary Activities in Nurseries, Gardens and Garden Centers and Auxiliary Activities in Agriculture) does not require an initial access qualification.
