Envera joins #STOPCOVID_IO, a digital platform based on transparency, to create 38 jobs and manufacture surgical masks.

Madrid | June 12

Envera joins the stopcovid.io platform with the challenge of creating 38 jobs for people with intellectual disabilities in the midst of the social crisis resulting from the impact of the coronavirus in our country. With this project, Envera also intends to support the fight against COVID-19 by manufacturing surgical masks at its Special Employment Center in Madrid.

As pointed out by this non-profit organization, whose priority objective since 1977 has been the creation of sustainable jobs for people with intellectual disabilities, "the impact on employment due to the COVID-19 crisis has been devastating for special employment centers, which represent the only possible job opportunity for many people with disabilities". With this new line of work, Envera will have a production capacity of 120 masks per minute and, in addition to creating jobs, it will be aimed at meeting the great demand in Spain for this product and doing so with the highest national quality standards and guarantees.

A commitment to innovation in which Envera wants to count on the essential support of donors and partners to implement this project. Thanks to the stopcovid.io initiative, Envera not only has a platform to seek funding, but also to manage, control and validate its actions with maximum transparency. In this way, donors, whether individuals or companies, have the assurance that the funds raised are used for the purposes of the project.

"We want to increase people's desire to support social initiatives that are more necessary today than ever," notes Arancha MartĂnez, 2018 Princess of Girona Social Foundation Award and co-founder of The Common Good Chain (ComGo), the startup that launched stopcovid.io.

This social entrepreneur explains in an interview on Radio TerrĂcola that "thanks to blockchain technology we generate trust because it allows us to digitally centralize the management and visibility of what happens in a project, guaranteeing that what is said is really happening. This gives donors the peace of mind that their contributions are going to real projects from reliable entities".

The stopcovid.io project is associated with the United Nations Innovation Lab and has the collaboration of "key players in the sector" (Fundación Lealtad, Asociación Española de Fundaciones, Fundación Botín, Bolsa Social, CREAS, Ship2b, UnLtd Spain, Open Value Foundation and B Corp Spain) who are in charge of "validating" the organizations that have their projects on the platform.

Envera expects that with this challengepublished on stopcovid.io by the Fundación Lealtad, which accredits its transparency, can continue to contribute to equal opportunities, social justice and the achievement of the SDGs counting not only on the support of individuals, but also of those companies that want to join, through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies, in the creation of jobs and the production of essential health material in our country.
