Ten people with intellectual disabilities from Envera's Labor Insertion Service received their diplomas this Wednesday, certifying their training as kitchen assistants after having passed the course that Envera organizes for them to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to improve their chances of accessing the labor market.

The diplomas were presented by the president of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, and its general manager, Enrique Grande, accompanied by the director of Envera's Care Services, Ana Magalló. The three wanted to congratulate the new graduates and pointed out the importance of training in order to get a job.

IMG_3459During the course, which took place between November and February, the Envera students learned, under the guidance of chef Javier González García and at the Artigot Catering facilities, culinary techniques and processes, occupational risk prevention, social and labor skills, as well as customer service culture. With all this, they have completed 200 hours of theoretical and practical training, complemented with 150 hours of internships in catering companies.

For Javier González "the practices have been the icing on the cake of the course and we have to thank Artigot Catering, Alma Cheli, Comedores Blanco, Granier and Mo de Movimiento for their commitment to promote the integration of people with intellectual disabilities and contribute to normalize their activities as part of society".

By passing the course, Silvia, Anabel, José Carlos, Marta, Pablo, Simón, Francisco, Rosa, Aldair and Óscar have demonstrated that with effort, dedication and the necessary support, there are no insurmountable barriers and they now have the opportunity to continue breaking down prejudices.
