Great success of the solidarity auction of Iberia's paintings in favor of Envera, in the Durán hall.

Madrid | July 22, 2016

Pedro Sobrino, Envera's CEO, has described as a "great success" the charity auction "El viaje de la vida" (The journey of life), made up of 55 paintings by great international artists who have accompanied Iberia throughout its history, and which took place last Thursday 21st with the fundamental collaboration of Durán Arte y Subastas. Sobrino thanked the airline company, patron of the entity, and Consuelo Durán for their support "because these funds are a great help to continue advancing in the creation of employment for people with disabilities as well as in their care and that of their families, through our assistance services".

For her part, the director of the main Spanish auction house expressed her satisfaction with the bidding because "it has been very well received by the public. Consuelo Durán stated that "we have managed to sell many works well above the starting price, thus achieving one of our main objectives, which is to help Envera to continue developing the magnificent work it carries out".

Among the most important works that were awarded were "Flor de Alcachofa" by Oswaldo Guayasamín (whose sale closed at 16,000 euros); "Castaños", by Vaquero Palacios (4,250 euros); "Pesadilla en Chelsea", by José Manuel Ciria (3,000 euros), or "Luz de la Carihuela", by Viola (2,000 euros). The final auction of the works corresponding to "El viaje de la vida" exceeds 40,000 euros.

More paintings from Iberia's art collection will be auctioned in September, offered through Durán Arte y Subastas, in favor of Envera. On this occasion, the selection will be equally interesting.

Among the works that will be available for bidding is "Suite Iberia" by José Manuel Ciria, made up of 12 large-format oil paintings and conceived as a unique work, and new copies of the "El Aire" portfolio, the airline's most traveled collection. Prints from this series will also be offered in the online auction that will take place from next week until September 5 (www.duran-subastas.com). We are, therefore, facing new opportunities for all those collectors who wish to invest in art and, at the same time, contribute to improving the lives of people with disabilities, the mission that has been Envera's driving force for almost forty years.
