Iberia will auction 55 paintings by great artists in favor of Envera

Madrid | July 13, 2016

Iberia, in collaboration with Durán Arte y Subastas, will hold a charity auction to sell 55 paintings on July 21. The funds raised will be donated in full to Envera, an association that was founded by airline employees almost 40 years ago and is currently open to the whole of society and serves 2,500 people with disabilities.

With the slogan "The journey of life", the works to be offered for sale are part of the art collection that Iberia has compiled throughout its almost 90 years of history. Among them are "Flor de alcachofa" by Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Guayasamín; "Castaños", by Vaquero Palacios, and two paintings by Manuel Viola, "Costa del Sol" and "Luz de Carihuela". The painter José Manuel Ciria is also present in this auction with his paintings "Composition", "Nightmare in Chelsea" and "Overset Tiger Shart".

In addition, the "El Aire" collection will be auctioned, consisting of 16 engravings by artists such as Genovés, Fajardo, Rafols Casamada, Canogar, Feito, Úrculo, Amalia Avia, Lucio Muñoz and Salvador Victoria.

The auction will take place at the headquarters of Durán Arte y Subastas, located at C/ Goya 19 in Madrid, on July 21 at 6:00 pm. In the same space, the works will be exhibited from July 10.

Iberia has a collaboration agreement with Envera, with which it has contracted courier, handling, document management and laundry services, among others. Iberia organized a solidarity concert in favor of Envera with the participation of Plácido Domingo at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid on May 1. Iberia's relationship with Envera is part of the airline's Corporate Social Responsibility policy.

Envera is a non-profit organization that works for the social and labor integration of people with disabilities, who are assisted throughout their life cycle.
