Pedro Sobrino, General Manager, and Andrés Serna, worker of the Special Employment Center, represented Envera - Association of Iberia Employees Parents of People with Disabilities during the meeting organized by Abdón Pedrajas & Molero in Madrid on labor law, which was also attended by Xavier J. Braulio Thibault, General Director of Employment of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, Ángel Blasco, Supreme Court Judge and Agustín González, Human Resources Director of Ferrovial Services, among others.
Pedro Sobrino underlined Envera's efforts to "provide sheltered employment to more than half a thousand people with intellectual disabilities in Special Employment Centers and support labor insertion in ordinary companies, as a fundamental part of the Association's commitment to accompany people with different abilities throughout their life cycle".
Andrés, a worker at the Envera Punto de Inclusión solidarity space, a pioneering initiative in Europe at the Islazul Shopping Center, wanted to share with the attendees his experience in the workplace, demonstrating that both personal attitude and the commitment of companies contribute "to the construction of a better world for everyone". In addition, Serna wanted to reflect on the "different capabilities" of each person that make "we can all be the best at something", such as his colleagues, who are in charge of the "visual examination of the wiring of aircraft engines".
For almost 40 years, Envera has been searching for that one thing at which everyone can be the best, offering supported employment to people with disabilities who, like Andrés, are capable of learning and managing to perform their work with excellence. That is, for Envera, the true "value of work".
