"Together we are stronger" on Radio Terrícola. Program 54

Madrid | June 2, 2020

Today's program has been a very artistic one. We have talked about contemporary art, literature and music, with a controversy that has managed to get Jesús de Frutos out of his "box". And all on account of the Beatles, who have not stopped playing between one interview and the next.

ANGEL CEA, from Energía Eficaz, cut the ribbon to inaugurate the program, talking about how hard this situation is being for entrepreneurs like him, who are dedicated to renewable energies. Fortunately, a year ago they started the disinfection activity, which is so necessary nowadays. So they have contributed their grain of sand helping in the hospital of La Paz in an altruistic way, as it could not be otherwise. Precisely, he noted that many have jumped on this bandwagon without proper training, "and this is not a game". As a collaborator of Radio Terrícola, he has been very proud to have participated in its creation seven years ago. But, all in all, he would gladly change his current job for his great passion, which is music, "I'm a damn frustrated musician". In addition to playing the guitar and having passed on the same passion to his son, he is an expert on the Beatles, "they are therapy for me and I always discover something new in them". He knows them so well that he has given lectures on this group, which is even studied at the University. When the thing was about to take the typical route Beatles or Rolling Stones, maybe by allusions, Jesús de Frutos has come out of his technical burrow for the first time to intervene and say that he is also Beatlesmaniac but without going to the extremes of Ángel. A cordial friendly argument between friends that gave way to an offer launched from the heart: to disinfect in Envera, "as many times as you want". And that has deserved the first applause of Radio Terrícola.

ALFONSO FERNÁNDEZ, beneficiary of the Envera Occupational Center, caught in the middle of a job in Becerril de la Sierra, has confirmed to us that he is unstoppable and never loses time. That is why he will continue to make key chains to sell them and why he belongs to an association to lend a hand to people with disabilities. The Association is made up of 95 people from various towns in the mountains and we can follow their activities by visiting www.inclusiondiversa.com. If there was room for another round of applause, this was the best moment.

TANIA PARDO, deputy director of the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo in Móstoles, began by saying that confinement has helped her to realize the social fractures, the differences, and how some children have not been able to access on-line studies. She went so far as to say that she would like to imagine a world without tensions. But now that she is getting into cultural matters, she pointed out that "the situation of culture and specifically contemporary art is fragile because it is unknown". And to illustrate the argument, she said that many people ask if they pay to visit an art gallery. "Museums have to be the refuge in a situation like this" and he is aware that new guidelines have to be created because "there is something healing in visiting them". It was very interesting to learn about the collective "Debajo del sombrero" (Under the Hat), which aims to give shelter to artists with "other abilities", a definition she likes to use in line with her conception of inclusion. The collective was born when the filmmaker and doctor Lola Barrera made a documentary about Judith Scott (artist with Down syndrome), entitled "What do you have under the hat?" and decided to undertake this adventure in Matadero and Casa Encendida, with workshops at the Faculty of Fine Arts. For Tania it is not relevant how the author of a work is, "art in the end is a biography of who is behind it", because also here it is necessary to remove labels and make it more inclusive. As an example, she said that in her museum the bathrooms are not marked so that everyone can choose their gender. In short, he concluded by saying that "the great utopia would be to analyze works of art regardless of who made them, just for the pleasure of analyzing them". After inviting Envera to visit the museums of the Community of Madrid and to record a program at the C2M in Móstoles, he received a round of applause, prior to his last reflection: "Our commitment is to reach everyone: culture is a right".

MARÍA REYES, Iberia's digital volunteer in Envera, closed the broadcast with one of her new stories. This time the protagonist was tarot card number 9, the sun, which symbolizes consciousness, life, expansion, joy... everything positive. Literally, we have finished the program full of joy.

A magnificent program with which we have enjoyed, learned and shared a radio space where everything is possible and where the illusion to improve the world makes us stronger together. And tomorrow, more.
