Envera athletes have five adapted bicycles thanks to the Lukas Foundation.

Madrid | October 13, 2020

The Lukas Foundation has temporarily loaned Envera four electric tandem bicycles and an individual tricycle, all of which have been adapted so that athletes from Club Ícaro - Envera with reduced mobility and great support needs can enjoy the benefits of sporting activity to improve their physical and cognitive abilities and as support for the therapeutic and physiotherapy treatments they receive every day at Envera's Comprehensive Disability Center in Colmenar Viejo (Madrid).

For Envera's Sports Director, Amadeo Meler, "having these bicycles is an excellent opportunity for our athletes to continue breaking down mountains of prejudice through sport, an essential activity for everyone, including Envera, which this year celebrates our 30th anniversary of inclusive sport".

These bicycles are not unknown to people with intellectual disabilities Envera already enjoyed them in the last Three Kings Parade in Madrid thanks to the support of the Lukas Foundation and became a flag for inclusion in one of the most endearing and multitudinous events that hosts the capital.

Integration, sustainable mobility, health and equal opportunities are some of the values that Envera wants to continue promoting thanks to these adapted bicycles.

For his part, Enrique Grande, CEO of Envera, thanked "on behalf of all the people who make up Envera, the support of the Lukas Foundation to our athletes. Thank you because with you we continue to demonstrate that we can all be the best at something, even people with intellectual disabilities, and that together we are stronger.
