Solidarity walk for Ukraine: Envera and CEIP Fuentesanta raise more than 6,000 euros for people with intellectual disabilities

Envera and the Fuentesanta School of Colmenar Viejo have organized a solidarity march in favor of people with intellectual disabilities who live trapped in Ukraine because of the war. Athletes, students and professionals from both organizations have participated in the sporting event, which has counted with the collaboration of the Colmenar Viejo City Council, and its benefits will be sent to the main Ukrainian NGO to help the disabled with which Envera has been collaborating since the beginning of the invasion by Russia.

The streets of the Madrid municipality became rivers of solidarity with this initiative that arises thanks to the close collaboration between Fuentesanta and Envera, which promotes the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities as well as other values such as diversity or teamwork. In addition, the MAPOMA Sports Association has also collaborated with the solidarity walk by donating sports equipment of the Zurich RNR Running Series Madrid for the participants, giving added value to the illusion of each of the runners.

Envera has carried out several actions to support, especially within Ukraine, the most vulnerable people such as people with intellectual disabilities living today under the bombardments. On the one hand, with the permanent contact with VGO Coalition through its coordinator, Yuliia Klepets, the main organization for the protection of the rights of people with disabilities based in Kiev, which has allowed us to know first hand the terrible situation that these people and their families are living, as well as the sending of videos made by Envera's professionals. sending of videos made by Envera's professionals in order to continue the to be able to continue the therapeutic treatments that have been interrupted since February.

In the coming days, Envera will also send more than 6,700 euros to VGO to cover the needs of people with intellectual disabilities thanks to the collaboration of the participants in the solidarity walk and the collection of solidarity points at Envera's headquarters in which mainly their families and workers have collaborated.

In addition, Envera, together with Islazul and HSI, sent more than 8,000 kilos of humanitarian aid to the region of Volyn and, in Madrid, provided places for the care of refugees with intellectual disabilities in its occupational and early care center.

The president of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, says that these actions respond to "Envera's commitment to the most vulnerable because, being an organization whose purpose is the direct care of people with intellectual disabilities, we can not look away from the situation in Ukraine", and wanted to "send all our support to those who continue to strive, even in the worst conditions, so that people with intellectual disabilities occupy with dignity their place in the world.
