Five of them have already obtained an employment contract.
Canary Islands | September 4, 2019
The students of the Savia Envera Projectan initiative launched by Envera with the support of the Government of the Canary Islands and the European Union, have completed their internships in workplaces belonging to the Certificate of Professionalism in Installation and Maintenance of Gardens and Green Areas.
Thanks to this official training, eleven people with disabilities have completed a total of 96 hours of training internships that have allowed them to come into contact with the business world and put into practice the knowledge acquired during the previous months.
Envera emphasizes that "this real link with the company favors knowledge of the working world and results in options for the incorporation of recent graduates into the labor market in the companies in which they completed the internship module". So much so that five of its students with disabilities have already found employment in ordinary companies.
This specialized training in the workplace is possible thanks to the collaboration of companies committed to Envera's social mission, supporting the creation of opportunities for people with disabilities. On this occasion, Envera has signed agreements with several socially responsible companies in Tenerife:
- Hotel Botánico & The Oriental Spa Garden (INSERHOTEL): the students performed the tasks involved in the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities of the Gran Lujo hotel (5 stars) in the north of Tenerife.
- HARDISSON Gardening: conservation activities have been carried out at the Heliodoro RodrĂguez LĂłpez Stadium, the headquarters of CD Tenerife SAD, as well as at the "El Mundialito" field and the "Ciudad Deportiva de Tenerife Javier PĂ©rez".
- ZONA VERDE G.C. SLU.: the students have collaborated in the maintenance of green areas of the City Council of Tacoronte as well as in the company's own facilities in La Orotava.
- CESPA SA: training has also been carried out in the gardens and parks of the City Council of El Sauzal.
- UTE URBASER SA-INTERJARDĂŤN SL: where students have performed the tasks that the company carried out in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for the City Council of the capital.
Envera expresses its "gratitude to all the companies for their social commitment to our organization and to our students, as well as the great opportunity they give them to learn about the work being done in them, to have a contact with the working world and to demonstrate that, if we prepare ourselves and make an effort, we can all be the best at something".
ENVERA SAP INSERTS
The Savia Envera Project 2018-2019 is part of the Integrated Itineraries for Labor Market Insertion Projects, co-financed by the Government of the Canary Islands and the European Union through the European Social Fund Operational Program, Canarias Avanza con Europa.
The objective of this itinerary is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to improve their employability, with the ultimate goal of enabling them to access and develop a qualified job and thus achieve their social and labor insertion.
In fact, the Savia Envera Project maintains a commitment of insertion of at least four students in, at most, the six months following the end of the course. In the year 2017/2018 15 students got a job contract and, in this course, five people with disabilities have already been inserted.
For Envera's managers, it is "a sign that training and internships are essential to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities".
