On Wednesday, Carlos Lesmes, President of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) and the Supreme Court, visited the Envera Comprehensive Center for Disability Care, in the town of Colmenar Viejo, Madrid.

Upon his arrival, Lesmes was welcomed by José Antonio Quintero, president of Envera, and by its general director, Pedro Sobrino, who accompanied him during his visit together with the head of the Tutelar Foundation, Marta Muñoz.

The head of the judges shared a day with the beneficiaries and professionals of the assistance services, getting to know first hand the activities carried out in the Residence for the Elderly Disabled 45 years old, in the Day Center for Seriously Affected Persons and in the sports pavilion, aimed at maintaining physical and cognitive skills. He also had the opportunity to visit the brand new Residence for Adults, in whose refurbishment and equipment ONCE Foundation has collaborated.

The President of the CGPJ also visited the Special Employment Center where workers with intellectual disabilities explained the tasks they perform in document management, laundry and handling work.

The visit culminated with a special program on Radio Terrícola, the Occupational Center's inclusive workshop, in which Carlos Lesmes was interviewed by Envera's announcers and received a handcrafted oak wood clock that symbolizes the "strong values that have represented the Association since its foundation 40 years ago and which are also the values of the judiciary", as stated by the authors of the Occupational Center. In the image that heads these lines, Carlos Lesmes appears with the "reporters" of the radio that unites us and users of our refurbished residence.

For the President of the CGPJ it was "very satisfying and happy" to share the morning with Envera and to be able to get closer to the reality that people with disabilities live every day. Pedro Sobrino wanted to thank the "commitment and closeness of the President with the whole of society as a whole, without making differences".
