Madrid | November 23, 2020

On December 2, on the occasion of the International Day for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Madrid Foro Empresarial and Envera are organizing the debate "CSR in the era of COVID-19: opportunity or victim" with the participation of Ferrovial, Ibercaja, Iberia, Beiersdorf - Nivea and Mapfre.

The event, which has the collaboration of Deusto Business School and the sponsorship of Ibercaja, will take place at 4:30 pm and can be followed via streaming through the Zoom platform. Hilario Alfaro, president of Madrid Foro Empresarial; Juan Francisco Polo, director of Communication and Corporate Reputation at Ferrovial; María Campo, head of Brand, Reputation and Sustainability at Ibercaja; Clara Bazán, director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Mapfre; Eugenia Garrido, director of Human Resources at Nivea; Teresa Parejo, director of Sustainability at Iberia; and will be moderated by Enrique Grande, general director of Envera.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined as the active and voluntary contribution to social, economic and environmental improvement that companies must make to their immediate environment, starting with their own employees, continuing with their supply chains and related activities, and culminating with the end consumer and the social context in which they produce or operate.

For Envera, a non-profit organization that has been working since 1977 for the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in collaboration with public and private organizations, CSR is, in addition to being a catalyst for improving society, a strategic element for the competitiveness of companies that helps, among other things, to create a greater sense of belonging among company employees, improve the customer experience, increase reputation and, ultimately, achieve a better bottom line.

From this perspective, the participants in this roundtable will analyze, from the different points of view of their organizations, the evolution of CSR during the global crisis of COVID-19, which has triggered social and economic needs.
