This Monday, as every year, workers and beneficiaries of the Envera Integral Disability Center, in Colmenar Viejo, have collaborated as volunteers supporting the solidarity race organized by the Fuente Santa Infant and Primary School.
The purpose of the race was to raise funds for the assistance services of the parish of San José, which helps the most vulnerable groups in Colmenar, and to whose soup kitchen Envera has already donated 500 kg of chickpeas.
Our volunteers have made themselves available to the municipality to organize the race, without missing the opportunity to encourage the students of the school along the route. This selfless collaboration of Envera Integral Disability Center has been, once again, proof of the commitment and social values of the people who make up our centers, people with intellectual disabilities who choose to give their time and effort to help improve the conditions of the most vulnerable in the locality.
At the end of the day, the director of the school, Debora Turegano, wanted to open more doors and invited our volunteers to run with her and Alfredo Pérez, Physical Education teacher, to put an end to a race full of energy and good intentions. An opportunity that all our volunteers have taken advantage of and enjoyed, sending a clear message: we will be wherever we are needed.
Either through our Special Employment Centers, where we manufacture IIR type surgical masks for sanitary use or perform handling work for laboratories such as Chantelet, or by helping the AMPA of CEIP Fuente Santa to carry out this solidarity walk, Envera's goal is clear: to continue advancing step by step, stride by stride, for the real inclusion of people with disabilities, raising awareness among children, families and professionals, and demonstrating every day that people with disabilities are great influencers that impact our lives.
People with disabilities participate as volunteers in the organization of the annual race of the Colegio Fuente Santa de #ColmenarViejo.
