Sacyr Services and Envera have agreed to collaborate in the area of social responsibility to promote the social inclusion and employment of people with disabilities, especially intellectual disabilities, through an agreement that will facilitate training internships for students of Envera's Cooking Assistant courses in Sacyr's cafeteria and catering services, as well as their labor market insertion.
This is the case of Marta Hernández, an Envera student with a disability, who ended the year 2022 with an employment contract at Cafestore thanks to her training and the joint work between Envera's Job Placement Service and Sacyr Servicios.
Both organizations wanted to mark the beginning of this collaboration agreement with the event Talent Gourmet +a gourmet dinner prepared entirely by students with intellectual disabilities who have been part of the 'Cocina Envera' program, directed by chef Javier González García, and who have already completed their training.
The event, which was attended by the managing director of Sacyr Servicios, Eduardo Campos Pozuelo, and the president of Envera, José Antonio Quintero, together with their management teams, took place last Wednesday at the Deliquo restaurant in Madrid and was attended by five kitchen assistants trained by Envera.
Patricia, Lilian, Simón, Kyamil and Marco Antonio received recognition for their work in this first edition of Talent Gourmet + in the form of diplomas that were presented by Sacyr and with the thanks and applause of all the diners at the end of the evening.
Sacyr Services' People Director, Javier Arias, said that this meeting "exemplifies very well some of the values we believe in at Sacyr, such as diversity and inclusion".
In the words of Envera's president, the agreement between Sacyr and Envera is "a commitment to real equal opportunities, since the students who are with us today are a representation of the more than 70 professionals that Envera has trained in the hotel and catering sector since 2018, 40% of whom have obtained jobs in the last two years."
Quintero emphasized that "Sacyr Servicios has become an indispensable collaborator to reach higher and further in Envera's flight plan, which aims to ensure that people with disabilities occupy their place in the world with dignity".
For his part, Campos said that having the opportunity to collaborate with Envera "is a source of pride shared by all Sacyr employees". "What we want is to advance and promote this type of initiative," said the CEO of Sacyr Services.
People with disabilities who take the 'Envera Cooking' courses are accredited as kitchen assistants after receiving training in culinary techniques and processes, occupational risk prevention, social and labor skills, as well as service culture and customer service. In addition, the courses always include internships in hospitality companies that allow students a first approach to the world of work before their insertion.
