AN UNPRECEDENTED CRISIS IN THE 21ST CENTURY
According to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), in one week more than one million people have fled Ukraine and another one million remain internally displaced due to the rapidly deteriorating situation and Russia's military actions in the country. The situation is increasingly unstable, delicate and unpredictable.
For UNHCR, the Ukrainian refugee crisis could become the biggest "of the century" and the UN High Commissioner Filippo Grandi himself is surprised at "such an incredibly rapid exodus of people" seeking a life-saving way out at the border of neighboring countries.
In the face of this grave situation, Islazul and Envera reaffirm their commitment to the most vulnerable and call for citizen solidarity to help Ukrainians suffering from the siege and those fleeing the war.
This action is part of the 'Origen' Project, whose objective is to fulfill the purposes contemplated by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), giving impetus to initiatives such as this one, focused on promoting the visibility of solidarity projects. Islazul thus becomes the loudspeaker that projects its voice to reach all corners and help achieve a better world for all.
