This Sunday morning, the Madrid town of Colmenar Viejo has hosted the Benemeritan Racea solidarity sporting event promoted by agents of the Guardia Civil in favor of Envera, a non-profit organization that serves 5,000 people with disabilities and their families every year and provides stable employment to more than 900.
In the organization of the event itself, led by Captain Rubén Fernández, athletes from Envera's Integral Disability Center in Colmenar Viejo took part, who encouraged the participants throughout the different tests they had to overcome along the route.
The presentation of medals and trophies was presided over by the mayor of Colmenar, Carlos Blázquez, and the head of the Civil Guard in Madrid, Colonel Diego Pérez de los Cobos.
Envera wanted to "recognize the commitment of the Guardia Civil and these athletes with the welfare of all citizens so that people with disabilities can occupy our place in the world with dignity. It has been a fantastic day of coexistence, sport and inclusion".
Also participating in the meeting were the general manager of Envera, Enrique Grande, and the councilors of Security and Sports of the Colmenar Viejo City Council, Jesús Fernández and Fabiola Cebrián, respectively.
