Iván Bolopa is a young man with intellectual disabilities born in Malabo (Equatorial Guinea) whom Envera's Early Intervention professionals met as a child thanks to a cooperation project promoted by the SEPLA - Ayuda Foundation. Today Ivan has become an Envera scholarship student, which has allowed him to come to live in Spain and prepare himself to work. In addition to the internships he is doing at Metro de Madrid or at the recently inaugurated Espacio Iberia, this sports lover has participated in the most important athletics event thanks to the Dis-Friendly Madrid Relay Maratonpromoted by Coca-Cola and MAPOMA. As Envera points out, "there are no impossible summits if we have the necessary support and help".

And along with Ivan, nine other runners with intellectual disabilities have done it again. They have completed, by relays, the 42.195 kilometers of the Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Madridone of the most important sporting events held every year in the capital. In total, ten social entities have participated in the inclusive mode of the marathon that in this third edition has also had the Olympic gold medalist Fermín Cacho as sponsor and with the support of DIario As.

For the third consecutive year, ten athletes with intellectual disabilities were among the more than 40,000 runners who last Sunday took to the streets of Madrid in one of the largest events characterized by promoting sustainability, solidarity and inclusion.

For Coca-Cola, "the Disfriendly Relay served as a powerful call to action to support and recognize the vital work that the participating associations do every day. Their presence reaffirmed the message that sport is for everyone, an arena where equality and inclusion must always prevail."

For her part, the Director of Communication, Institutional Relations and CSR of Envera, Virginia Ródenas, said that "the impact of participating in the Dis-friendly is incredible. We have shown that people with intellectual disabilities can get to where we propose. There are no impossible summits if we have the necessary support and help".

In addition to the participation of the ten athletes, residents with intellectual disabilities from Envera encouraged Ivan and the runners along the course, being an active part of this sporting event.

MAPOMA and Coca-Cola, with Envera, in the leadership of sustainability and inclusion in sports

The collaboration of MAPOMA, Coca-Cola and Envera has not only made possible the participation in the three editions of the Dis-friendly Marathon, but also the development of social and cooperation projects inside and outside Spain, in order to promote sustainability, corporate social volunteering and the contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In fact, in the days leading up to the marathon, Envera also participated in the Runner's Fair held this weekend at IFEMA with the solidarity sale of vintage t-shirts, thanks to MAPOMA's donation of surplus material from previous years' races, which has a direct impact on sustainability and inclusion by giving a second life to the t-shirts and supporting Envera's social projects.

In addition, there was also a special Radio Terrícola program, broadcast from the Coca-Cola booth, with the participation of Pedro Rumbao, vice president of MAPOMA and CEO of the Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Madrid; Eugenio García, Communications Manager of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners; and Juan Díez, Envera employee and athlete with 16 completed marathons behind him; among other guests and athletes.
