Envera celebrates the celebration of inclusion with the premiere of the film Wonder in Madrid


The film Wonder, starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, is a touching story that praises solidarity, respect and integration of the different, values that are the banner of Envera in its mission for the social and labor inclusion of people with disabilities.

This special screening was held last Wednesday at the Cine Palacio de la Prensa in Madrid with personalities from the world of culture, communication and business.

Envera, an organization dedicated to the care of people with intellectual disabilities throughout their lives, has put the finishing touch to the celebration of its 40th anniversary with the exclusive screening of the film "Wonder" at the Palacio de la Prensa cinema in Madrid, thanks to the support of eOne, distributor of the film; Iberia, a company without which Envera would not have come so far or so high; Ferrovial, Madrid Foro Empresarial and Grupoidex.

The commemoration of these four decades of work and achievements that improve the lives of the most vulnerable has the honorary presidency of Her Majesty Queen Letizia and the motto "we can all be the best at something".

_mg_8508The film adaptation of the bestseller by R.J. Palacio is the story of August Pullman, a boy with severe facial deformities who will have to overcome prejudices and survive with large doses of good humor and perseverance, cultivating the values of solidarity, respect and dignity of people. All these are values for which Envera has been working since 1977, betting on training and equal opportunities to show people with intellectual disabilities what they are capable of, and for their social and labor inclusion, convinced that we can all be the best at something, that we are all important and that we all count, as stated by the president of Envera, José Antonio Quintero.

This Special Premiere is part of the "Influential Personalities" campaign, which shows the qualities, abilities and skills of people with intellectual disabilities, influencers capable of impacting our lives with a single gesture and that last Wednesday were the protagonists in Madrid's Plaza del Callao.

The celebration was attended by beneficiaries of Envera's assistance services and workers; the general director of Disability Support Policies of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, Borja Fanjul; the president of the Justice and Disability Forum and member of the General Council of the Judiciary, Juan Manuel Fernández; the general director of Attention to People with Disabilities of the Community of Madrid, Jorge J. de Cisneros; as well as personalities from the world of culture and business.

_mg_8920The mobile unit of Radio Terrícola, made by the people of the Envera Occupational Center, traveled to the Palacio de la Prensa to pick up in a special program the testimony of this celebration of inclusion.

 

 

 

 

Grupo Envera is a non-profit organization founded in 1977 by Iberia employees, parents of people with intellectual disabilities, whose transparency is accredited by the Fundación Lealtad, and which, open to the whole society, serves 2,500 people every year in its early care services, neurodevelopment for children and youth, training, occupational and day center, residences and guardianship foundation; it employs more than 500 people with functional diversity and trains more than 300 athletes; it has the support of 250 volunteers and has a hundred collaborating entities. It has centers in Madrid, Colmenar Viejo (Madrid), Barcelona, Malaga, Tenerife and Las Palmas. This year it celebrates its 40th anniversary under the honorary presidency of Her Majesty Queen Letizia Letizia.a Letiziaand with with the slogan "We can all be the best at something".
