The commitment to people with functional diversity is strengthened and expanded with the new stage that the envera Group has started, which represents the best continuity of the effort made by APMIB. This association, which was born as an initiative of Iberia's employees and which for 37 years has been providing work and care for people with disabilities, most of them with intellectual disabilities, has taken "a step forward to reach more people", according to Pedro Sobrino, envera's general manager, who commented today.
"Grupo envera represents the professional evolution of the exceptional work of the APMIB association, the Foundation and all the centers that have managed to provide a job to hundreds of people with disabilities and have provided assistance throughout their lives to those who needed it. In total, more than 1,500 a year, a figure that will increase now with the new primary care projects" Sobrino added.
Grupo envera faces the challenge of opening its actions to more people who can benefit from the enormous experience it has accumulated over the years with very satisfactory results, and which has allowed them to realize the dream of offering a good alternative to people with functional diversity.
The envera group has a new website(www.grupoenvera.org), innovative and agile, to explain the work it does, to tell about its new projects such as scholarships for children and to ask for the collaboration of companies and individuals, through various forms of donations, sponsorships, volunteering and a crowfunding platform as an essential support to be able to give the answer that people with functional diversity need today and tomorrow for their better development in our society.
"Envera is present throughout the lives of the disabled," said Pedro Sobrino, "we assist people with disabilities from childhood, with all kinds of disabilities, whether mental, physical or sensory. We help many families without resources who cannot take care of their disabled, especially through employment. But there are many more to help. Too many families are not being cared for, and we want to reach them," Sobrino added to the challenges for 2015 for envera.
With the intention of integrating them into the world of work, envera assists the disabled during their school career, and once finished, "they are taught a trade and are helped to find employment, in our centers or in those companies that wish to count on us". Pedro Sobrino has highlighted the great work of public institutions regarding the labor incursion of people with disabilities, "to whom we are very grateful for the kind of measures that have been taken, such as the obligation that 2% of the workforce in public companies, are people with some kind of disability and the direct support to our work centers in Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Las Palmas and Tenerife". And added the general director of envera, "the cuts have reached all sectors of society and we are no exception. We have their support, but we always demand more." "We havecompanies like Iberia, Aena or Airbus, but we want to integrate more companies as Patrons, to increase our income, and with it the welfare of the disabled", concluded Pedro Sobrino.
