Last Friday, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners' Central Area Director, Eduardo Pérez de Ayala, and Envera's President, José Antonio Quintero, inaugurated the 'Coca-Cola Space', which is already being enjoyed by nearly ninety people with intellectual disabilities, including residents and students of Envera.
It is an inclusive and sustainable space, which has been financed by Coca-Cola EP and located in the Envera Building, headquarters of this non-profit organization, and in whose realization have participated the people with intellectual disabilities themselves along with more than thirty volunteers from Coca-Cola EP that throughout eight days of corporate volunteering have helped to raise both a garden surrounding the residence and a recreation area that also has a hydroponic urban garden for environmental workshops.
In addition, many of the materials used for the implementation of the Coca-Cola Space have been provided by the company itself for use or recycling, as in the case of umbrellas or pallets, and there has also been a donation of material by Leroy Merlin.
Pérez de Ayala has recognized "the work done by Coca-Cola and Envera volunteers, which will undoubtedly have an impact on improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities. The work you carry out from Envera is fantastic".
For his part, Quintero wanted to "sincerely thank Coca-Cola and its volunteers for their support to all the people who make up Envera, because with you we have found an emotional refuge with which to overcome the pandemic, navigated the seas of sustainability and the environment and now, with this space, have a place to enjoy and continue learning".
In this way, Envera's president recalled the different social programs in which Coca-Cola and Envera have collaborated, such as the digital volunteering launched during the first state of alarm, the 'Everything will be for the better' meetings for emotional support in the face of COVID-19 that took place in all Envera's delegations or the Circular Seas workshops for the care of the natural environment in which the students of the Training programs have participated.
After the inauguration, both representatives participated in a special Radio Terrícola program presented by Antonio Martín 'Michael' and Nuria Espí, residents of Envera.
The event was also attended by Enrique Grande, CEO of Envera, and on behalf of Coca-Cola EP Teo Dueñas, Central Area Communication Manager; Ana Lirón, Corporate Communication & Digital Senior Manager; and Eugenio García, Communication and External Relations Manager.
