The objective of the Day Center is to provide rehabilitative care, personal and social habilitation, hygiene care, personal care and specialized assistance, in order to achieve the maximum development of the capabilities and possibilities of social integration of people with intellectual disabilities and high support needs.

During the presentation, which was guided by the coordinator of the Day Center, Rosa Ollero, members of the Board of Trustees of the Envera Guardianship Foundation, beneficiaries and their families were able to see first hand the modernization of the rooms and spaces of the center that will provide better care for people with intellectual disabilities.

This service, which belongs to the Envera Integral Disability Center in Colmenar Viejo, was inaugurated in 2000 and today has two multipurpose rooms for activities, a physiotherapy room, toilets, medical and psychology services, coordination offices and an outdoor garden area.

"With this reform we can provide a more effective response to the needs of the people we serve, which have been changing over time," explained Ollero, while ensuring that "thanks to the new work rooms, for example, people who until now were permanently in wheelchairs, now have an adapted space to move on the floor and work on their motor and cognitive skills in a more appropriate way".

The refurbishment of the Day Center, a service provided by the Community of Madrid through the Department of Social Policies and Family, has been supported by the ONCE Foundation, which has collaborated in the financing of the project.
