The Alares Foundation has recognized the social work of Envera with the National Award for Excellence in Inclusion and Occupational Risk Prevention for People with Disabilities in the category of Special Employment Center at a gala presided over by the Minister of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare, María Luisa Carcedo.

The non-profit organization Envera has been working for more than 40 years for the social and labor integration of people with intellectual disabilities, which it accompanies throughout their lives. Every year it assists 2,500 people with disabilities through its assistance services and provides stable and protected employment to more than 650 people in its six Special Employment Centers located in Madrid, Colmenar Viejo, Barcelona, Malaga, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

"This award recognizes the importance of the labor inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in 21st century organizations that must embrace the values of diversity, equal opportunities and excellence," said José Antonio Quintero, president of Envera, together with Inmaculada Igualada, from Envera's Special Employment Center in Madrid, who collected the award that was presented by the Secretary of State for Social Services, Ana Isabel Lima, and Ángel Jurado, director general of Labor of the Community of Madrid.

The gala, which was hosted by the actor and singer "El Langui", was also attended by other personalities such as Father Ángel, founder of Mensajeros de la Paz; Jordi Sevilla, president of Red Eléctrica de España; José Juan Pérez-Tabernero, director of Institutional Relations, Communication and Responsible Banking at Santander; and the businessman Cipri Quintas.

In addition to Envera, the Alares Foundation also recognized the work of the Room Mate hotel chain, the Mapfre Foundation and the president of Repsol, Antonio Brufau.

In the category of National Awards for Work-Life Balance and Social Responsibility, the winners were UDIMA, Lourdes García Salmones (Philips), the Spanish Association of Executives and Board Members, the RTVE portal Todxs por la igualdad, Antolín Romero (presenter of Aquí hay trabajo on TVE), Mar Arteaga (RTVA), Carmen María Martínez, Fundación Gil Gayarre, UNICEF and the companies Clave Informática, Sandoz Farmacéutica and Altran.

Quintero wanted to "thank the Alares Foundation for its support of Envera's social mission to achieve a better world for everyone with this award, which belongs to all Envera's workers with disabilities for showing us every day that they are the best professionals and that, if we put our minds to it and have the necessary support, we can all be the best at something".

Envera also received in February the Influentials Award as the most sustainable organization of 2018 awarded by the readers of El Confidencial.
