Envera renovates its centers for people with disabilities thanks to 'Next Generation' funds granted by the Community of Madrid

More than 500 people with intellectual disabilities have benefited thanks to the aid received

Madrid | March 18, 2024

The Regional Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Affairs of the Community of Madrid, through the call for grants to develop investment projects to promote the autonomy of users and the person-centered care model and for the acquisition of technical and technological equipment for social service centers and third sector entities, under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (financed by the European Union - Next Generation EU), granted Envera funding for a total of seven projects for the adaptation of spaces and the acquisition of equipment for its centers for the care of people with disabilities for a total of 638.638,178.45 euros.

With this aid, the residences and day centers in which Envera cares for more than 500 people with intellectual disabilities have carried out renovations in their facilities with the aim of improving care for people with disabilities by creating spaces more adapted to the needs of the beneficiaries and their individual preferences.

In addition, technical and technological equipment has been acquired that helps to improve therapeutic intervention, favors the development of digital competencies in people with disabilities and promotes the use of innovative technologies in the centers, which provides higher standards of safety, comfort and control of both health and care.

EARLY CARE, A REFERENCE CENTER IN THE COMMUNITY OF MADRID

Thanks to the grant, Envera's Early Intervention and Neurodevelopment Service for Children and Adolescents, a reference center in the Community of Madrid, has seen its work spaces improved, where 250 children with disabilities and their families are cared for every week. The aid has made it possible to increase the number of treatment rooms, provide two new rooms to offer social and family support, improve the Iberia Children's Garden and refurbish the recently inaugurated multisensory room.

RESIDENCES AT THE FOREFRONT

Another of the spaces improved has been the Residence for Elderly People 45 years old with Premature Aging of the Integral Center for Disability (Colmenar Viejo) thanks to the acquisition of transfer cranes, shower chairs, articulated beds, as well as technological equipment for the residents.

In addition to tablets, laptops and an interactive screen that residents already enjoy and that are effective tools with which Envera works to reduce the digital divide of people with intellectual disabilities, adult residences and occupational centers both in Madrid and Colmenar Viejo, have also seen their infrastructures improved.

THAT THE MOST VULNERABLE ALSO TAKE THEIR PLACE IN THE WORLD WITH DIGNITY

With the permanent objective of ensuring that people with disabilities occupy their place in the world with dignity, Envera works to improve the quality of life of its beneficiaries every day.

People with high support needs at its Day Center and Residence in Colmenar Viejo have new leisure and therapeutic equipment, such as an electrostimulator, a podiatry chair, four articulated beds, shower chairs and a standing frame, in addition to the renovation of the spaces of both services.

With all this investment and improvement of facilities and technical equipment, Envera reinforces the social work it has been carrying out since 1977, serving 5,000 people with disabilities and their families every year, providing stable employment for 850 of them, and accompanying them throughout their life cycle so that they can occupy their place in the world with dignity.
