The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Miguel Tembour, and the General Manager of Grupo Envera-Association of Iberia Employees Parents of People with Disabilities, Pedro Sobrino, have signed a collaboration agreement that will allow students with intellectual disabilities in Envera's labor insertion itineraries to carry out training internships in this public institution.
In this way, and in accordance with the principles of respect for difference and diversity, equal opportunities and full and effective inclusion, the Ministry of Economy seeks with this collaboration to collaborate in the progressive incorporation of people with intellectual disabilities to the different areas of society in a normalized and inclusive way.
The people with disabilities who will benefit from this agreement will be students of the Vocational Training Program in Auxiliary Operations of Administrative and General Services, of the Secondary Training Program and those who have completed training actions in the Envera Group's Labor Insertion Service.
The students who carry out their internships in the different ministerial areas will be able to put into practice the knowledge acquired during their preparation period with Envera, with the advice of a person in charge appointed by the Ministry and a tutor and job coach from the Association.
Other public administrations are also focusing on this line of collaboration. Recently, the Madrid City Council unanimously approved a decree for the incorporation of social clauses in the contracts signed by the Consistory in order to "guarantee equal opportunities" for people with disabilities and the social entities that assist them so that their participation has an impact "for the benefit of all citizens". This agreement implies the predisposition on the part of all the municipal political groups so that the Special Employment Centers where people with disabilities work can actively participate in the contracts carried out by the Administration of the capital of Spain.
The general manager of Grupo Envera has congratulated himself for all these important initiatives to achieve the challenge of inclusion. For Pedro Sobrino, "we are facing a new step forward in our demand to all the administrations at the service of the citizens to be an example to follow for the rest of the social actors. We are convinced that in this mission to achieve real equality of opportunities, the model of public institutions is decisive in the purpose of achieving social justice".
