"Thank you for helping us to make magic". With this message Iberia has recognized the companies and organizations that contribute to offer the best experience to customers traveling on its aircraft, at the Inflight dinner Gala that took place on March 20 in Madrid and in which Envera was awarded along with other prestigious brands that regularly collaborate with the airline.
The awards were presented by Gabriel Perdiguero de la Torre, Iberia's Director of Finance, Transformation and Technology.
For his part, Envera's general manager, Enrique Grande, attended the Catering Awards to collect the award that recognizes the quality and excellence of the service provided by Envera in a sector as qualified as the aeronautical sector, which directly impacts customer satisfaction and their experience when traveling.
The collaboration between the two organizations also makes it possible to create stable and protected employment for people with disabilities, meet ESG and social responsibility standards, as well as contribute to 11 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN's 2030 Agenda.
Thanks to the support provided by Iberia to Envera since its foundation in 1977, this non-profit organization created by airline employees, serves 5,000 people with intellectual disabilities and their families every year, accompanying them throughout their life cycle; and provides stable employment to more than 850 professionals with disabilities.
Workers like Cristina Soto, who has been working at the Envera Special Employment Center for 26 years, and who is one of the professionals who prepares the onboard toiletry bags for Iberia, the first Dis-friendly company in the world. Dis-friendly company in the world..
Like Cristina, more than 400 people with disabilities at Envera work for Iberia's services, which each year make 4 million in-flight cutlery kits, 1.2 million in-flight toiletry bags and 6.7 million seat linen kits; manage 1.5 million tickets that are automatically rejected because they are poorly made at source; and recycle 140 tons of materials. Inaddition, these professionals participate in the overhaul of 180 aircraft engines by making bolt kits.
