As in previous years, the envera pavilion hosted a new boccia championship of the Federación Madrileña de Deporte de Parálisis Cerebral, in which 50 athletes participated.
Boccia is a sport similar to boccia, played under international rules by athletes with total or partial disabilities in their limbs.
It is a game of precision and strategy, and according to the categories, the athletes throw the balls with their feet or hands while seated in their wheelchairs, except for the most severely handicapped athletes who play with the help of a chute or ramp, on which the assistant deposits the ball once the athlete has chosen the direction of the ball.
The events are divided into individual, pair and team events, and it is a mixed sport in which men and women compete against each other.
After an intense day of play, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the athletes expressed their satisfaction with the friendliness and willingness of the staff and the comfort they found in the envera facilities.
