"Together we are stronger" on Radio Terrícola. Program 45

Madrid | May 20, 2020

A program, No. 45, which begins with a live musical band of birds singing, could not take us on better paths. We have walked hand in hand with Civil Protection with good thoughts that turned out to be fascinating, following the advice of millenarian sages, until finishing the journey recognizing that Culture is a good of first necessity.

DAVID MARTINEZ, head of the Civil Protection Group of Colmenar Viejo, has comforted us by saying that "with a little interest we will get out of this without any problem". Said this way, with the sound of birds in the background, the truth is that it leaves us reassured. We have learned that among the logistical tasks they carry out are the distribution of masks, the transport of food to soup kitchens, the collection of medicines in hospitals, the support to Caritas and the birthday greetings to children in confinement. The last person to receive a birthday greeting was an Envera beneficiary. He revealed to us that many have become hooked on helping in these days "because volunteering is a vice". And a parting word of advice: "You have to remain aware and follow the rules". For him it has been the first applause of Radio Terrícola.

ANTONIO MARTÍN, our pichichi, from his "Happy Success" section, is still very interested in knowing when he will open Fotos Aurora because he has a lot to develop and he has run out of film. What he has revealed is that he has many photos of landscapes and things of his own. Although the most of his own is the song he composed 24 years ago, on August 20, 1996, Tuesday to be precise. At the end Adrián has given the scoop: Fotos Aurora is now open to the public... Thank you!

AMAR BASIC, an Iberia flight attendant and digital volunteer at Envera, talked about his Arabic name, which he was given because it is of Serbian-Croatian origin. But the most surprising thing has turned out to be the name of an aunt of his, called none other than Envera. So she is very happy to collaborate with us because she says she feels closer to her aunt. But that was not the most exciting part of his speech because he then read a story that teaches. It is about a king who is given a piece of paper by a wise man to hide under his ring and consult when he is in difficulty. When the time comes, he opens it and reads "this too shall pass". Very comforted he comes out of the trouble and starts a happy life, but the same wise man recommends him to read it again because it is also valid in pleasant moments. And the king felt the same peace, but the pride and ego had disappeared. Moral: no thing, no emotion, is permanent.

That is, "everything is ephemeral", as David reminded us, quoting a well-known phrase from the commander of this Radio Terrícola ship, the master Jesús de Frutos.

PILAR GUAL, actress, singer and singing teacher, worried about the future, but at the same time at ease in her confinement because she declares herself very homely, has said that since she was a little girl she wanted to be an artist and that is why she attended acting courses and singing lessons. Like so many others in her sector, Pilar had planned performances, but they were put on hold. However, she plans to sing at the Veranos de la Villa, in Madrid. And we will all be there, for sure. She has made us see that the confinement has served to attract new spectators, after having been enjoying the on-line culture. "This may encourage many to attend live shows afterwards". His support for culture has been clear (and of course ours) because he said: "without the public we are nothing"... But the public, which is all of us, will know how to live up to it. The promise of an earthling.

EDUARDO GARCIA, member of the Board of Directors of Envera and representative of Comisiones Obreras, closed the program talking about the controversial decisions that sometimes have to be taken in the airline industry, but that contrast with the spirit of welfare service and the creation of inclusive employment for people with disabilities to be inserted into society. And above all, the determination that neither the coronavirus nor anything else can stop Envera's strength to continue advancing towards a fairer world. And that said, tomorrow, more.
